Learn about the world with our Cultural Potluck Parties!

We love to gather together for parties at MOSAIC engage English Classes! This semester we started a really cool community tradition. Every Thursday we gather together for a community Potluck lunch before our classes from 11:30-12:30. Each week a different student volunteered to do a presentation about their culture or hometown.

We have had so many amazing presentations. From Kohei we learned about Tokyo and the fact that their is a job in the Tokyo subway where all you do is push people into the subway car! From Ana we learned about AguasCalientes Mexico and the beautiful Festival of San Marcos. And this past Thursday we learned from Logan that in Mongolia there are still many people that live a life of nomads on the Mongolian plains (Although now they have tvs and wifi in their yurts and use jeeps to move around the countryside!)

This upcoming Thursday May 30th we have Zohreh speaking about Persian culture. We are really excited to learn about the wonders of another culture. Come on out at 11:45 to celebrate Persian culture. Stay tuned for the schedule for the next semester. We will let you know what interesting cultures we will learn about.
