What are the values we believe in for our English classes?

1.       Teaching through Community education - As a Non-profit we emphasis building a community where everyone feels safe, welcome, and included.  We offer a variety of free additional programs such as weekly gatherings, meetup.com workshops, and individual tutoring for students who need extra help.  We also connect our students to the huge variety of employment and settlement programs offered by MOSAIC.  Everything is designed to help our student connect to our community.

2.       Teaching for the Real world -  As part of MOSAIC settlement focus our curriculum is based around real world situations.  Based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks our students will acquire skills that they can apply in daily living.  Our goal is to have students learn a lesson in class one day and then use it in their real life the next.

3.       Teaching through the needs of our students.  We do a needs assessment in the first day of class and based on our students’ responses we craft a curriculum that meets their unique needs.  Every learner is unique and thusly every class at MOSAIC engage is unique!
