Tell us about yourself.

My name is Ebrahim, and I am originally from Iran. I have a Doctorate in Pharmacy and an MBA from the University of Tehran. I have over seven years of experience in pharmaceutical management and factory leadership. I moved to Canada to explore new opportunities and build a better future. I’m currently working hard to improve my English and integrate into the Canadian workforce.

How do you spend your free time in Vancouver?

I enjoy walking around the beautiful parks in Vancouver, especially near the seawall. I also love watching soccer, exploring new local foods, and spending time with my cat. Recently, I’ve also started working with Uber, which helps me learn the city and meet people.

What some challenges you’ve faced with moving to Canada?

The biggest challenge has been the language barrier. Although I am well-educated and have years of experience, I’ve realized that not knowing English well can be a major obstacle. Another challenge has been rebuilding my professional career from scratch, but I am motivated to succeed.

Which place would you recommend to someone visiting your country?

Iran is a country full of history and culture. I would recommend visiting Isfahan for its stunning architecture, Shiraz for its poetry and gardens, and my hometown, Nishapur, which is the birthplace of Omar Khayyam and a city rich in heritage.

What are you hoping to achieve during your time at MOSAIC?

I hope to improve my English, build a strong network, and gain the skills and confidence to restart my professional career in Canada. I also want to learn more about Canadian workplace culture and how to succeed in this new environment.
