Tell us about yourself.
I am Elif, 32 years old from Turkey. I am a chef currently working on the bakery side. I came to Vancouver almost one and a half years ago.
How do you spend your free time in Vancouver?
I love walking while exploring the city. I like spending time on the beach especially when the weather is nice.
What are some challenges you’ve faced with moving to Canada?
Vancouver is an expensive city. I had to work two jobs to pay rent for a year.
Which place would you recommend to someone visiting your country?
Istanbul is beautiful and fun, big and crowded, but definitely a must-see. We also have excellent beaches and bays in the west side.
What are you hoping to achieve during your time at MOSAIC?
My primary goal is to improve my English. I want to be able to speak comfortably.
