Tell us about yourself
Hi all, my name is Elsa. I am an Intermediate ESL student here at MOSAIC Engage.
I moved to live in Vancouver a few months ago because my main family's home is here and that is my heart.
What was your first expression of Vancouver and have this been changed?
The first thing that strikes me in Vancouver is how incredibly beautiful the cityscape is! The nearby mountains look like they come from the ocean, the air is fresh and everything around us is colorful. I have always liked cities with spectacular backgrounds! like my country.
And I can get to meet people from different countries with different cultures.
I always think: Vancouver is a hard city, but I'll figure it out.
What do you do in your spare time? Have you found your hobby in Vancouver?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, seeing new places and dancing and also love I to be an outdoors person as well, there are great day hikes.
Have you found a restaurant where serves your hometown food? And which menu would you recommend for us?
Yes, we have some restaurants that serve food from my hometown with special menu like pupusas, yuca con chicharrón, seafood soup and other delicious Latin food.
How are you enjoying studying at MOSAIC engage?
Mosaic is a nice place focused on teaching and we feel very comfortable and supported. English classes are a great challenge and very important for me, to improve my English is my goal because I want to communicate with more neural connections connected in my brain that are related to English instead of the ones that light up when I speak my native language.
