Tell me about yourself

My name is Eva, I'm originally from México, I have lived in Acapulco all my life but seven months ago I decided to move to Canada with my family, two daughters, my husband and I start a new stage of the life.

I'm a Nurse, I worked in emergency obstetric departament, I have 12 years of experience in my career. My Job is my passion.

What would you like to achieve in Canada?

I would like to be able to practice nursing in Canada, it's why I'm started the process in College of Nursing and Midwife of BC (BCCNM) my goal is get my license as RN.

What are your challenges when you comes to Canada and how did you overcome it?

English is my big challenge, to understand the different accent and different cultures, however I like it. Exploring new experiences in this journey of my life I have discovered the positive side meeting many friends from all over the world definitely it was the best form that I can overcome it.

How are you spending your time in Canada when you are not at work/school?

I really enjoy jogging at the parks, They are very beautiful. Since arriving to Canada I'm into jogging, It's wonderful to be able to appreciate the beautiful landscapes that Vancouver offer while I exercise.

Of course I spend time with my family and friends, it's excited for me to walking around and explore new places which I still have a lot to know.

How are you enjoying learning at MOSAIC?

MOSAIC is an important key to overcome my challenge, the teachers are wonderful and very patience. When I started to learn English here I was afraid to don't understand cleary because I didn't feel confident about my English but now I have to recognized that is the Best option. I'm improving, I have more confidence speaking, Everyone of the staff is warmest and friendly. I'm pleased.
