Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm Gemerson, 23, brazilian and I came to Vancouver six months ago. I have degree in Architecture from Brazil but I'm currently in Vancouver and looking to learn English and develop my skills. I love my country and my citytown, but, Vancouver had been a beautiful place to live, I love live here.

How do you spend your free time in Vancouver?

In my free time I like walking around the neighborhood, knowing new places and enjoy the sunny days (when we have). I like gonna to the gym, play volleyball and do exercise activities. When I am at home, my husband and I love to cook our meals.

What are some of the challenges you’ve faced moving to Canada?

I'm in Vancouver only 6 months. I never had studied English in Brazil so my main challenge in Vancouver is communication in English. I think the cold in the fall and winter is my second main challenge, I would really like Vancouver was sunny every year.

What place would you recommend to someone visiting Canada for the first time?

I didn't know a lot of places in Vancouver so my favorite places here are: English Bay (the beach and the neighborhood), Lynn Valley, Granville Island, Vancouver Library Central, Queen Elizabeth Park.
