Community Profile: Kyrylo

The Community Profile is a weekly interview with a member of our MOSAIC engage community.

This week, meet our student Kyrylo who is taking IELTS Prep classes at MOSAIC engage!

Tell me a bit about yourself.

Originally I am Ukrainian. This month will be one year being in Canada (just exactly on Victoria Day, May 22, definitely will celebrate ðŸŽ‰ that).

Meanwhile I am very grateful to Canada and Canadians for their support and hospitality for all Ukrainians.

Currently I am working as a Supervising Carpenter on movie sets. Fun and interesting work where you can meet so many different people.

What did you do back in your home country?

I left my homeland long ago so it will challenging to recall precisely everything. Mostly I worked as a Project Manager.

What do you want to do for fun this summer?

I have a bunch of plans hope I’ll squeeze them in my tough schedule. I am planning to visit Mexico for vocations or maybe to take a cruise (if I can swap my American visa). Also want to visit Tofino (with its hotsprings) and overall Vancouver Island. Planning to visit Zoo in Langley, shooting field (some gun fire practice) and hike a lot.

How are you enjoying classes at MOSAIC engage?

I like classes and especially my tutor Jean. Undoubtedly she is the best. She is very positive, with charming smile and excellent sense of humor. Overall I am pleased with MOSAIC hospitality. Looking forward to attend some extra events!

What is your favourite spot in Vancouver?

If I am limited to pick only from Vancouver so maybe Canada Place harbor. But, there are so many good spots: wreck beach and UBC area,  yacht yard near horseshoe bay, Granville Island.
