Can you tell us about your journey to Canada and what motivated you to start a new chapter here?
My journey to Canada began in 2023 with the CUAET program. Motivation was to live in a safe, socially secure place with my family.
How has your cultural background shaped who you are today, and how do you keep your culture alive while living in Canada?
My cultural background still influences me and surrounds me, but I try to absorb the local culture and experiences.
How has participating in MOSAIC’s English programs through Engage supported your learning, confidence, or integration into the community?
Participating in MOSAIC’s English programs through Engage helps me get more practice speaking with my teachers and classmates.
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced when you first arrived, and what helped you overcome them?
The biggest challenge was the lack of friends and family nearby. Over time, friends emerged through our cultural community.
What dreams or goals are you currently pursuing in Canada, and how do you hope to contribute to your community?
At this moment, my goal is to improve my English to a sufficient level to find a job in my field, thereby contributing to Canada and my community.
