Events in Vancouver: Granville Island Turkey Trot

The Turkey Trot is a 10-kilometre Thanksgiving Day run on Granville Island, this October 14th 2024

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This week’s featured event is the annual Granville Island Turkey Trot!

Participants in the annual Turkey Trot are welcome to run, walk or stroll at this fun, family-friendly 10KM. Though registration is now full for the event, the whole community will come out to cheer and support runners with signs and decorations. Even the runners are encouraged to dress in costume for this festive race. Prizes are given out for ‘best costume’ and ‘largest team’.

This scenic 10KM race starts at Granville Island and loops over the Burrard Bridge to the downtown Seawall, before turning at Science World and heading back along the False Creek Seawall to the Finish Line on Granville Island.

Morning temperatures in Vancouver are usually cool in October, so dress warm whether you’re working up a sweat in the race or by cheering on the runners.
