This summer, downtown Vancouver will once again come alive with the vibrant sights, sounds, and stories of TAIWANfest 2025—a one-of-a-kind cultural celebration that invites everyone to explore the rich intersections of Taiwanese, Canadian, and global cultures.

This Year’s Theme: “Dialogue with Portugal – Echoes of the Ocean”

In 2025, TAIWANfest continues its acclaimed “Dialogue with the World” series by turning its focus to Portugal. Through music, art, food, and storytelling, the festival explores the emotional and historical ties that connect Taiwan and Portugal—two island cultures shaped by the sea, migration, and resilience.

Expect to encounter the soulful sounds of Fado, the poetic nostalgia of Saudade, and the enduring spirit of Taiwanese identity through a global lens.
