New Canada Immigration Pathway Announcement By IRCC
This morning, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Cananda announced that the Canadian government is expanding the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot by establishing a new path to Permanent Residency.
Currently, the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) combines refugee resettlement and economic immigration. It’s a pathway that:
helps skilled refugees immigrate to Canada through existing economic programs
gives employers access to a new pool of qualified candidates to fill job openings
This summer, a new pathway, which will replace the current system, will be launched.
The new federal pathway will give companies more chances to fill positions, including teachers, tourist and hospitality employees, truck and delivery service drivers, software engineers, web designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and long-term care aides.
The EMPP offers candidates the chance to get back to their former professions and here in Canada while giving companies another way to meet their labour demands.
The EMPP will also adopt a more relaxed policy for eligibility, allowing displaced people who require international protection and lack a long-term solution to apply.
