Tell me about yourself and what you do.
Hi, my name is Alcina and I'm an ESL teacher here at Mosaic Engage. I was born and raised in Vancouver. I love learning new languages and cultures, so teaching ESL was my calling. Of course, Mosaic has already introduced me to fascinating people. It's been great.
Do you know any good café/restaurants where it has been all time your favorite and want to share with us?
I'm a huge foodie (aka food lover). So my go-to for a delicious meal is Mumu Kitchen. It's located near English Bay. Also, you've got to try Earnest Ice Cream if you love ice cream!
What is your hobby and is that easy to access for the newcomers?
My hobby is taking dance classes, especially hip-hop and house. If you love to dance or want to give it a try, I recommend Harbour Dance Centre. They've got wonderful teachers. It's also beginner-friendly!
As an ESL teacher, what is the best way to study English/new language for non-English speakers?
My advice to all learners is to always do something that engages them with English. Listen to music, watch a movie, read a book! Find something you enjoy and try to do it in English. You can do it!
