Tell us about yourself.
Hi! My name Anh Hong, you can call me Ellis. I’m from Vietnam. I live in Ho Chi Minh City, which is the second largest city in Vietnam. I have been in Vancouver for ten months ago. Now, I’m a nail technician. I work six days a week.
How do you spend your free time in Vancouver?
In my free time, I usually listen to the music and learn English. On my day off, I like hiking and walking around the beach. When I arrived in Vancouver, I was overwhelmed by the nature beauty of this place.
What some challenges you’ve faced with moving to Canada?
The biggest challenge I faced when I came here was the language barrier. Because my English was so bad, I couldn’t understand what people were saying. But when I studied at Mosaic for 2 courses with Ms. Patricia and Mr. James, I improved. However, my listening skills still need more practice.
Which place would you recommend to someone visiting your country?
Vietnam has a lot of beautiful scenery. If you love nature like me and have the opportunity to come to Vietnam, go to Mang Den and Mu Cang Chai. These are two ideal places in autumn with beautiful natural scenery.
What are you hoping to achieve during your time at MOSAIC?
During my time at Mosaic, I hope to meet many friends and my English skills will get better and better. Thanks for reading!
