Community Profile: Jaime & family

Jaime and his family have been taking English classes with us for several months, and this week he gave us a short interview about his experience in Vancouver.

Tell me about yourself or your family

We are a Mexican family with six intriguing people, Jaime, Ruth, Mar, Jania, Jaime and Ruth Jairemi. 

Can you recommend a place to visit in Vancouver from your family’s own experiences? 

One of the most beautiful places is Stanley Park, Kidzilano beach, the plazas and parks are good places to go out and enjoy with the family. 

What restaurant would you recommend in Vancouver for your country’s food? 

Yes, we work in the restaurant industry, and we have one called Toloache, which we are working to have the flavors as close as possible to our country, which is located at 586 Hornby St, Vancouver. 

What do you want to achieve by moving to Canada?

Our objective is to look for new alternatives of personal and professional development for each one of the members of our family, to be bilingual and to look for new business opportunities. 

Is there anything that you wish you had known before moving Canada?  

To know better English and to know better the immigration regulations to reduce time and costs in our process.
