Events in Vancouver: Nisga'a First Nation Hoobiyee Celebrations

Hoobiyee (pronounced “Ho-bee-yeah”) is a First Nation event celebrating the Nisga’a New Year. This year it will take place at Vancouver’s PNE Forum on March 1st and 2nd. The event has free entry and everyone is welcome!


The Nisga’a Nation is based in northwestern BC near the Alaskan Panhandle, and First Nations from across BC attend Hoobiyee.

There will be numerous dance performances as well as drumming and singing at the Vancouver Hoobiyee event.

In addition to dancing, there will be a market area with food trucks, as well as vendors selling Indigenous art, jewellery, and other artisan goods.


Date: Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2, 2024: Doors Open at 10:00 a.m.

Location: PNE Forum, 2901 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC
