Events in Vancouver: Playland Opening Weekend
It’s opening weekend at Playland, Vancouver’s most beloved amusement park!
Playland is a beloved local amusement park in North-East Vancouver, in the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood. In late Spring every year, they open up and run carnival rides, games, food, and events throughout the summer into early Fall.
Playland has been open since 1910, although it wasn't officially named Playland until 1958 when it moved to its current location at Hastings Park. Before that, the amusement park, known as Happyland, operated at Hastings Park from 1929 to 1957.

Big thrills can be found on rides like the famous wooden rollercoaster, the Atmosfear, the Beast, and the Hellevator, as well as kid-friendly rides like the Teacups and the Merry-Go-Round, and the Honeybee Express.
