Events in Vancouver: The Fireworks
The Honda Celebration of Light, simply known as “The Fireworks,” is back this summer to light up the night sky!
The Fireworks have been an annual multi-day event in Vancouver for over 30 years and is considered to be one of the highlights of the summer by many. Whether you are able to attend one night or all three, it is bound to be a memorable evening!
A big part of going to The Fireworks is the anticipation that leads up to the actual fireworks that start at 10 PM! This means that a lot of locals go early to save a spot. The most popular place to watch the fireworks is from English Bay, but they can also be viewed from other nearby beaches and parks.
Before the fireworks start, there are other events leading up to the big show:

Here is this year’s schedule! Each fireworks show is performed by a different country, and one of the most special things about the Honda Celebration of Light is that the fireworks are synchronized to music!
Saturday, July 20th - Portugal
Wednesday, July 24th - Malaysia
Saturday, July 27th - United Kingdom
Remember that the actual fireworks start at 10 PM after the sun sets, but the other events start earlier in the afternoon.
Also note that there will be some road closures, so plan your route accordingly. Public transit also gets quite busy after the fireworks are over.
Food Trucks will be available on Beach Avenue and in Bidwell Lot near the Inukshuk from 2 PM – 10 PM each day.
There are two ways that you can listen live to the music simulcast of each fireworks performance.
Bring a Radio – With a portable radio, you can tune into CMFI Rock 101 and listen to the live stream at any time, from anywhere!
Online Stream – Listen live through their radio partners’ web page. You will need to use data or a wifi connection.
