Vancouver’s annual Vaisakhi Parade is set to return on Saturday, April 12th, bringing thousands of people together to celebrate the Sikh New Year with free food and drinks and live performances!
Organized by the Khalsa Diwan Society, this annual event is one of the largest Vaisakhi celebrations in Canada and a cherished tradition in the city. Also, a Surrey Vaisakhi Parade will take place the following week on Saturday April 19th.
The parade kicks off from Ross Street Temple (8000 Ross Street) and makes its way through South Vancouver’s Punjabi Market. Along the route, expect to see vibrant floats, energetic community performances, and live music filling the streets. A major highlight of the celebration is the incredible display of seva (selfless service), as local residents and businesses offer free food and drinks to everyone attending!
