EmpowerLens: Photography program for newcomer youth

EmpowerLens is a free photography program designed for newcomer youth who want to explore their creativity, gain practical skills, and connect with others through visual storytelling. Whether you’re dreaming of a creative career or just want to try something new this summer, this program offers hands-on learning, fun activities, and real-world experience — all in a supportive and inclusive space.

Through interactive sessions led by industry professionals, you’ll learn how to take great photos, edit them like a pro, and even explore how photography can turn into freelance opportunities or social media content. You’ll also work on your own photo project and showcase it in a final exhibit to celebrate your growth and creativity!

  • All immigration statuses welcome

Who Can Benefit:

To be eligible for our filing services:

  • Your Status: Permanent Resident, Protected Person, or CUAET holder.

  • Income Limits:

    • 1 person: $38,000/year

    • 2 people: $55,000/year

    • +$10,000 for each additional household member under 18.

🚫 We Cannot Assist If You Have:

  • Business/rental income or expenses

  • Capital gains/losses

  • Filed for bankruptcy

  • Self-employed with expense deductions

  • Filing for a deceased person
