Events in Vancouver: Shipyard Christmas Festival

All over Vancouver, winter celebrations featuring twinkling lights and huge Christmas trees offer family-friendly activities and live entertainment. This weekend, the Spirit of the Season Celebration is the City of North Vancouver’s official Christmas event and it’s totally FREE!

The festival takes place in the Shipyards in Lower Lonsdale, close to the SeaBus terminal, in evening on the first Saturday of December. Then on Sunday, they will have an artisan market as well.

In 2023 the festival happens on Saturday, December 2nd, from 3:00 pm until late.

Just like in previous years, entertainment includes live music and dance performances. Costumed characters walk around as well. Other activities include lantern-making, storytelling, craft activities and other fun things. There is also free hot chocolate, and food trucks are on-site.

The feature attraction is the lighting of the Christmas tree, which will shine for the whole month of December.
